News....

Air Force has sidestepped serious injuries so far in camp. Cornerback Anthony Wright is out with an undisclosed injury, but I don't think its serious. He could be held out of the Northwestern State game and the Falcons would still be fine. Wide Receivers Kevin Fogler and Nate Kauth have worn the red injury jersey, and linebacker Brady Amack was dinged up a bit, but all now are fine.

Speed. The Falcons have a lot of it on offense. Asher Clark, Jonathen Warzeka, Cody Getz, Kyle Haldrerman, Dontae Strickland, Mikell Hunter, Darius Jones. Plenty of speed on the edge for the Falcons. Big Play Speed.

I would be very surprised if Tim Jefferson is not starting at QB for the Falcons September 4th. He has had a solid camp, especially throwing the ball. My little voice tells me the Falcons will throw more this year. But I also do expect to see Connor Dietz play. And the Falcons have moved Defensive Back Ben Cochran back to quarterback. He is a heck of an athlete, and may see time on special times, or perhaps even on defense in a dime package.

We would love for you to join us at Falcon Stadium. Click on this link for a chance to win tickets from Colorado's 740 KVOR. http://kvor.com//customform.asp?id=59180&view=scheduled We'll draw names before every home game. And when you come out, bring your radio for your hometown coverage on KVOR.

  1. Jim,

Just found your blog through the Air Force message board. Just wanted to say thanks for the hours of entertainment you have provided to those of us that cannot attend many Air Force games in person. I work in a command center for a federal law enforcement agency under DHS. I am at work many, many Saturday afternoons far from satellite TV. I never have to worry about knowing what is going on in Falcon Stadium, because you and your team are there to keep me up to speed streaming live on the internet.

I don't know if your "boss" sits you down for a yearly evaluation--but if you don't mind my presumption I'd like to give you some feedback that I know thousands of Air Force fans and KVOR listeners would agree with:

-Your love for Air Force sports is obvious and deeply appreciated.

-I respect your integrity, given the fact that you are an Air Force fan, to point out areas where the Air Force athletic department occasionally fails to live up to its ideals.

-On a related note, I deeply appreciate the obvious study, time and effort you clearly take to prepare for the games. You have obvious respect for the opposing team, and constantly give them the credit they are due during the course of the game.

-I love the fact that you are clearly not a "homer" and point out when Air Force gets the benefit of a blown call. I only got the full appreciation of this fact when the KVOR server was down for a football game a few years ago and I had to listen to the other team's audio stream. I finally gave up listening to the clowns on that station and simply watched the gametracker.

These last few years as I worry about another team poaching Troy Calhoun, I have a related worry--another radio station poaching Jim Arthur!

I'll be reading the blog and I can't wait for another great Air Force season!
