Service Academy Football-once again on display Saturday at Falcon Stadium.  Air Force and Navy know each other so well. No surprises, so all you see is just hard hitting, gritty football. There was more pressure on Air Force in this game than I can remember in recent times. They hid it well, but the Midshipmen losing streak hung like an albatross on the Falcons. But Air Force didn't play like it, and that's why they won. They cut down on mistakes from previous weeks, and remained patient, and found a way to beat Navy 14-6. It was finally the Falcons that made a few more plays than the Midshipmen. This series has been so close over the years. I thought it was critical that Air Force get, and play with the lead, which they have hardly done in the last 4 games. A lot of heroes Saturday, but 3 stood out. Tim Jefferson, finally healthy, has been very good this year and was again yesterday with two td runs. Linebacker Jordan Waiwaiole played the game of his life with 15 tackles and the key interception with under 30 seconds to go. And how bout the freshman Jamil Cooks who blocked two kicks. He's got the makings of a very very special player for the Falcons.

The victory pushed Air Force into the top 25. They are ranked 25th in writers poll.
